Nationwide criminal search

Sometimes a need presents itself to conduct a criminal background check on an individual. Whether it is for a business background check or perhaps a rental background check, a nationwide search can be helpful and give insights into a person’s background that may not be compatible with the business or person’s standards. A Criminal background check is often referred to as a criminal history record, it is a list of criminal information obtained through a fingerprint request sent to the FBI, state criminal records repository or local police department records office. The requested criminal records check includes: any arrests, federal employment records, naturalization records, or military service.

When a request is received a computerized check of the fingerprints is conducted and if they are related to an arrest a criminal history report is generated. The record shows the name of the agency or person that submitted the fingerprints, the date of any arrest, the criminal charge, and the outcome of the arrest, if known. A Nationwide criminal search can include data from a Department of Corrections, the Administrative Office of the Courts from each state, and the Sex Offender registry, as well as other personal information. Obtaining a Nationwide background check is the best way to search nearly all of the country in one search. There are currently 46 states that have public records digitized and available through online statewide accesses. There is only one available Nationwide criminal record search in the U.S. The N.C.I.C or National Criminal Information Center is a central storehouse for criminal record information and is available only to law enforcement organizations and related criminal justice administrations. Access to the database is prohibited to the general public, private investigators and information brokers.

To conduct a nationwide criminal record search on an individual for an executive background check or an all-inclusive background investigation, the jurisdictions that an individual has lived or worked in must be established.
